I made it!
It's hard to believe I've spent 5 weeks doing nothing but riding my bike. Pretty neat.
I had butterflies as I started the ride today, and also as it ended. Karina rode with me all day, and it was really nice.
Vermont is lovely, as was the last bit of new York. Lots of hills!
I'll miss being in this lifestyle, what a luxury to do nothing but enjoy my energetic body and see the sights! I'm ready to go home, though! I miss Tina and I'm enthusiastic to start the semester.
Last thoughts- I realized today that this is something Nana would really appreciate... Especially when I was thinking about Carolyn, who rides with a reconstructed leg, hip, and who knows what else! And Connie, who's had diabetes for over 25 years, I think, and has to constantly be her own endocrine system! I'm sure there are more women riding with other major bodily difficulties they don't share- but I've seen many scars--and so many are over sixty, after all. And 3 (almost 4) over 70!!! Bodies don't stay in perfect working order forever!
Wow.
I'm relaxed, refreshed, I feel fit, and I've been smiling a lot these last few days.
An excellent vacation.
