Went to Washington, D.C. We stopped off at Philadelphia on the way, which I might add was better than Washington. Learnt all about American history in Philly and how the Americans gained independence from us the British. Had a cheese Steak sandwich. So disgustingly good. Walked down the 'old street' (wasn't that old) but it had the uk flag from when we owned them. I must add that the ex president Jefferson sounds like a complete weirdo.
Arrived in Washington early evening and had a night time tour of all the obvious monuments. But although its a really clean city and it looks nice there really isn't much of an atmosphere. Apparently all the poor people live there and all the parliamentary people just commute and live on the suburbs. So it's a strange capital city. There are a lot of hobos too who are happy to shout stuff at you as you walk past. So yeah unless your really into museums and the White House etc there's not much else to do there.
