For those of you who dont know Liz and I are about to set of on an epic advernture across the southern stretches of Australia from east to west and back again for our Christmas Holidays. If you would like to keep up to date with what is happening on the advenutre stay tuned.
We have been lucky enough to acquire the services of Big Blue, a Toyota Hilux that has been stocked to be the ulitmate in touring vehicles. No terrain to rough, no hill to steep. let just hope it has the heavy duty clutch for Lizzie's sake.
The Planned trip is :- 7500 km consisting of:-
Day One
Set off from Sorrento - Catch the Ferry to Queenscliff and drive to Ouyen / Mildura. 550 Km
Day two
Mildura to Ceduna area and camp. 768 Km .
Not sure where we are camping but thats part of the adventure.
Day 3 Ceduna SA To Eucla WA
The start of the desert. Camp at Eucla. - 964 Km .
Day Four - Eucla Wa - Esperance WA - "the back way" - the four wheel driving begins. 810 km.
Day Five - Rest day and New Years Eve.
Day Six - Esperance to Albany - "driving hungover" - 480 kms
Day Seven - Albany - Margaret River - 465km
Day Eight - Rest Day.
Day nine - Ten and Eleven - Margaret River - "Just Go East young Man" to port Augusta.
Via, Bridgetown, Lake Grace, kattaning, Mount Sherridan, Varley, Forrestania, Norseman, Belladonia, Eucla, Nullabor - Port Augusta Camping in the middle of no where, truely test out big blue. A massive - 2347 Kms
Day Twelve - Port Augusta - Rowland Flat (Barossa Valley) - 302 Km. A short Day. Wine Stock up day :)
Day 13 - Barossa - Queenscliff - 834km Ferry - Sorrento and thats it.
