Barnsley, Democratic Republic of the Congo
Well, here is the first entry from deepest, darkest Africa. Yes people, I've finally made it to the small town of Barnsley, about 40km northwest of Kisangani in DCR. It's a wild, lawless town in the throws of a chav backed coup against decent society. I'm going to be holed up here for a good few months before the real travelling can begin. I'm teaching in a small suburb of "Barnsley". Its a real battlefield but I feel like I am giving something back to this impoverished town. 60 more days of teaching and I'll be Cairo bound, expect a blog update then. I doubt I'll get chance before then as internet connections in this town are quite unreliable and there is a posse of Chav militia burning out a car in the park opposite as I write this. So I'd better make a sneaky exit before they sniff my semi intellectual leanings and have my head on a pole.
 Peace.
