This morning after a late breakfast I wandered down past the other resorts and through the grounds of the Hyatt. Wow, what a palace, and the grounds look a bit like a Japanese garden but have lots of different birds wandering about such as black and white swans, several species of duck, doves, flamingoes and even south african penguins in a special area, and the most gorgeous macaws, not in cages. Day 2 of the Wayne Dyer Seminar was just as good as Day 1. It has been well worth attending this. I won't go on about it here but you can check him out at www.drwaynedyer.com. This evening I went to the Luau that they have here at the Westin 3 times per week. Plenty of food, drink, music and dancing, and yes there was a grass skirt or 2 featured in the various performances. A good bludge has been scheduled for tomorrow, just for a nice change of pace.

Today I attended the first day of a 2 day seminar by Wayne Dyer, here at the Maui Westin, themed Mastering the Art of Manifestaton. Dr Wayne Dyer is a fairly well known author and speaker in the field of self-development. I have been into his books and audiobooks for many years, and it has been good to experience his presentations in person. Today I shifted digs over to west Maui to the Maui Westin (Resort and Spa). This is serious resort territory along this piece of coast. I'm here for 4 days. I had a couple of jars of Newcastle Ale on tap; that must be for English tourists. I steered clear of expensive restaurants tonight and got a SubWay and watched Thor on Pay per View. It is great weather at the moment, quite hot even though it's winter.

Today's drive up to the Haleakala Crater was a real treat! It is the centre piece of the Haleakala National Park. The observation area above the visitor's centre is a shade over 10,000 feet over sea level. The volcano's summit would have been much higher before many years of rainfall and erosion have reduced it to its present height. The ecosystem at the top is like nothing anywhere else on the island.
