Had a full day in Osaka, and we got the subway to Osaka castle and explored there, talking to millions of children on the way who all waved and said hello! we went to see a shrine osaka style, and i was the tour guide to the others who had only arrived in Japan the day before! Went around the central shopping area, then back to the hostel. spent the evening chatting to these guys around the lobby, as we still appeared to be the only ones in the hostel. Had a leisurely day the next day, waking up late and getting the train back to tokyo. Had a couple of drinks in the bar then an earlyish night. Yesterday, met up with a friend and we went to the sensoji temple in Asakusa again as there was a festival on all weekend celebrating the begginning of buddhism in Japan. It was so busy, so we got the subway to Shibuya and walked to the park to see the rockers all dressed up. Met a couple of japanese people and they took us to the thai festival, but figured i would get enough thai soon! we went into shibuya and there was a massive event, with 53 groups of dancers all parading in fancy costuimes, stood watching it for ages! We found some girls doing this druming and dance thing too, lots of music! Wandered around Shibuya for a while, then came back to the hostel for dinner. Met another friend from Tokyo last time, and we went back to the temple to watch the procession bringing the treasures back to the shrine. it was so busy and the temple was lit up and looked amazing. The atmossphere was great, and we have nothing like it in England! Stayed there watching the procession then came back to the hostel. met some new people and we played ring of fire (drinking game), bad start to the night! Had a great time though! Woke up early this morning, and we went down to the sumo place and managed to get tickets for today! it is the big sumo tournament giong on at the moment. Watched a couple of hours, but it was all the lower classes. Came back to the hostel, but heading back down there soon for the main events!
