Bangkok... not expected!!! Got to bangkok airport, backpacks and all only to discover that we had to get a bus from there to our hostel - hmmm. The ppl told us to get the AE1 bus, fair enough but working out where this stopped and where we needed to get off was not an easy task!!! Bus took over an hour, i did not enjoy the sweating part of it!! Room was a lovely bunkbed that when stretched out could reach all walls from, nice and cosy!!
Next day we went to visit a temple - got on a random boat who wanted to take us to a snake farm (no thanks!!) and saw huts made of tin and wood on stilts in the middle of the river on the way (not my idea of a house!!) Temple was AWESOME... saw lots of buddha's and a MAHUSSIVE chillaxing one (the reclining buddha). on way back got a ferry which im sure was not meant to have 3000 ppl on it - definate sinking!! Was meant to pay a small fee but we got away with that some how which was a treat!!! Got back and had beer, not much but never again on an empty stomach!!!!!!!
Went to a monastery and saw monks blessing ppl and loadsa ppl having a prayer session whichwas unexpected and not one tourist (bit of a hidden gem). COuldnt take photos of that though, think was too holy for us backpackers!!
After seeing all the slums we needed civilisation so went into bangkok centre, busy busy busy! Went to a noodle place to experience fish ball soup and some chicken thingy to fill us up for tonights 13 HOUR bus journey down to the islands - hope it has air con!!!!!!!
