hey sorry we havent done anything on here for ages!
there were no pictures of poland either so i picked some i liked lol
so yeh berlin was lovely did loads of walking we spent 6 nights there in all we walked round the whole main area and looked at the buildings, visited a world war two bunker that was interesting and cold! amasing the amout of people that had to flee down there and live in them, its very sad what happened to germany. we spent most of our evenings in the mitte district where we were staying, theres lots of trendy bars and also a big art house there that was saved by squatters and now houses gallerys and bars, we spent our first night sitting on the top floor having a few beers watching projections on the walls outside(coming from the art building)
below outside they had sand and big metal benches(that were all random letters) and another bar.
(on another note showeres with sensors and lights with sensors that last 15 seconds really starting to piss me off!!)Â
the weather was amasing while we were in berlin both really caught the sun.
one evening we went up the reightstag(we cant spell) the big govenment building!
they have a big glass dome up the top inside with a spiral slope you can walk up to the top and look out over berlin, we went later at about 8pm and there was still a 30 min que! was lovely to see but not that amasing you could look down in to there equivilent of ourhouse of commons, and had lots of mirrors in the middle(yes we did take pictures but al the pcs have been crap)
on our last sunday we fancyed a lazy day and walked out of the center for a bit to find a little pub, we poped in and noone spoke english then a guy steped forward that could to translate and basically it was all you could eat for 2 euros and beer a euro each (amasing as normally food in berling was at least 4 euros and a beer 2.90)
so we sat there and ate the local dinner sausages potatos salad bread cheese pea soup hams and other bits n pieces and drank beer all after noon for only 12euros!!! (Bargain!) we betted on the local football game with them and observed the mullets and moustaches!!!
monday we were catching a train to dresden, it started raining that day and spent the whole trip raining so we didnt mind excepet the whole time we spent in dresden it rained! we did want to go to there national park but the weather was to bad so we looked at the buildings being restored went round some old painting thing oooh we did see a famous painting think its called the madonna the one with the two cherubs sitting at the bottom (most people only know the cherubs)
yesterday we went to the german hygene museum, it had al the normal hygene things and also about ethnic clensing and hitlers ideas and how they went about telling if you were jewish and other nationalitys.
it was intresting but did go on a bit(repeated itself)
thay had some really intresting nazi propagander films and posters, also about nazi marrage and choosing your partner. It achcually made you realise how many people beleaved what he wanted was a good thing, and that he was helping them.
and today has been the funnest day of all!
got a train at 8.45 for nearly 11 hours to poland Krakow, we feel a bit like how you feel when you get off a boat all swimmy lol, the windows were stuck for half the journey but matt had enough of that and forced the latches off with his pen knife(leatherman that i bought him for xmas!!!)and he saved the day!! oh and the polish bordercontroll invaded the train they were scary and all military like matt was trying to take a sneak picture of them but didnt manage it. we then walked to our hostel and had a shower and now im here on the pc!
think were gonna go to the salt mines tomorrow thats if matt dosnt hurt himself in the night(the beds are just two beds skrewed together and are really high and wobble like crazy)Â
