Hello just a quick update to say that after i wrote the last update, i was persuaded to go crazy and do the Nevis Bungy which is the 2nd highest in the world and is the highest in the southern hemisphere. you take a cable car and dive 134m down attached to just a cord. it was an amazing buzz but was pretty scary! i did it with lots of my friends off the kiwi bus so there was lots of support (even if they are all mad)!
Went to Christchurch and said goodbye to alot of the bus which was sad. Then went on to Kaikora where i swam with a pod of over 700 wild dolphins. It was bloody freezing but brilliant. They were swimming under us and somersaulting over us. A really surreal experience.
We got the ferry to the north island the next day and stayed a night in wellington, the capital which was nice. Went to Lake Taupo last night and went to a really good irish bar with some scottish friends we made. (Rosie and kate -- met a girl wo lived around the corner from auntie stella, she asked if i'd ever been to tarzan!! We had a good discussion about how kool a place it was - fun times- wish we could still get in!)
This morning we arrived in stinky Rotorua, its the cultural centre of New Zealand and has lots of thermal pools so it smells just like Eirias science labs, all sulphurous - yuk! I've met up with my friend Nick who i travelled with a bit in oz. we're staying here two nights and going caving tomorrow, then onto aukland. Tonight, we're going to a Mouri culture show with a big banquet so should be fun to do some cultural stuff for a change (instead of throwing ourselves off/out of anything).
Got a bit of a crazy week ahead- quite a few of us from our kiwi bus have managed to get tickets for saturdays, all blacks vs france game in wellington so we're flying back down to wellington for it and meeting up with everyone, then i fly back to aukland and catch my flight to fiji and hawaii. we've got our all black shirts and face paint at the ready and are going to pick up a few haka tips tonight. ( sorry dad- i'm just a temporary all blacks fan so i don't get beaten up!)
See you all very soon.....
Enjoy the sunshine - i'll try bring some back from Hawaii too :-)
