hello again everyone...
well i went to stewart island last weekend, if yuo look on a map its the little tiny island just off the bottom of new zealand so i think i was about as far away as i could possibly get from england whilst there! met up with rich C, some of you know him, for those of you who dont we went to redruth school together and have known each other since we were little!
on the saturday we were kayaking for most of the day around the little beaches in this bit called halfmoon bay, it was lovely and sunny so that was wicked! we stopped on this little beach called dead man beach (!!). oh and when i say we i mean me, rich and some people rich had been travelling with- dustin from canada and 2 danish girls. it was good fun but tiring towards the end!! in the evening we walked up this big hill to this bit called observation rock where we could see so many stars. it was really cool we could see the milky way and there were shooting stars every now and then it was wicked.
everyone headed off early the next morning to get back to south island and catch the bus whereas i had the day on the island so went for a bit of a walk- back up to observation rock to see what the view was like in the day then down the hill and around halfmoon bay out to this old stone house. it was quite nice until it started raining and i went and stood under this tree until this woman pulled up and offered me a lift back into the town! after it stopped raining walked around the other side and sat on this rock for a bit above a beach and read my book before heading back to the ferry building to go back to invercargill.
havent really done much else...have been working in the school and the boarding house! am helping to set up a junior woodwind ensemble and helping with the jazz band so thats all good fun. the girls had an athletics day as well which was a bit of a shock- they get all dressed up- head to toe in their house colours and then do events dressed in crazy costumes. still quite strange being in an all girls school i thought it would be more b****y than it is, but maybe theyre all still getting to know each other before they all start falling out!! the timetable at the school is also really confusing me as it runs over 10 days not 5 and each day has lessons at different times its so confusing! the lessons are all called funny things as well like one of the music options in year 9 is called "making music for mini mozarts" (!!!). the cook at the boarding house is still trying to fatten me up which is quite funny and good for me!
anything happening back home?
