Steph and I were both lucky enough to have Mr.D kicking around GLS when we were going thru. I'm unsure of what grade we both did this trip in. But we definitely had different experiences...mine was one of enjoying time on the beach soaking up the sun, and Steph's was more of looking for the next place to take cover because the another round of snow, sleet, or rain was coming.
So in April, when I suddenly had 3 weeks in June available before leaving the country, Steph had a brilliant idea to make the journey again for some one-on-one sisterly bonding time!
We set out on Thursday, ready for rain but hoping for sunshine! We were very lucky. The weather was amazing, until the last hour of our hike out on Sunday.
I look forward to doing this again, maybe next time in New Zealand, (hint, hint Steph! ) and we'll remember chocolate and a spare book!
Thanks again Steph, it was wonderful

Cal Deobald Yes, they were very different experiences. Not often that you can swim in a northern lake on May long weekend. Things balance out, though. When your age group visited Writing on Stone (also May Long), the weather turned so windy and nasty we cut the trip short. When Steph's group went, the weather was awesome.
