First, ignore the pictures - it won't let me upload my own!
This is just a little update for you all at home!
This week has been the week of the mid-term exams. I had to set three exams for Primary four and Primary Five, and then mark them afterwards. Sitting in on exams is boring, and marking's an absolute nightmare. I don't how my teachers at home could do it for years and years. I also feel bad for every time that I didn't pay attention, or didn't finish my homework, or didn't listen to the teacher when they were explaining how to do something. So sorry!
The exams were all over the place. Some people got percentages in the high nineties and others in the low teens. It's especially frustrating when kids get things wrong when you've spent a whole week going over it again and again, and it really is a bit of a kick in the gut when kids don't do as well as you thought they would. You feel responsible.
The next six weeks are going to go so quickly, and Fern and I are feeling the pressure to make sure that the kids do well in their exams, especially Primary Five - if they don't pass their exams, then there won't be any Primary Six next year. I'll let you know how the kids get on!
This weekend, we had our friends from Lugazi stay the night, and it's been a great and chilled weekend. They cycled twenty two kilometres in the sun to get here, and we spent the two days eating sugarcane and pineapple, and going for wanders. I kind of want a bike now.
Until next time
