Synagogue
The first stop on our tour. It was set on fire and destroyed by the Nazis before the war started in one of the first affirmative acts of persecution of Jews in Berlin. It was damages in the war by bombing, but has since been rebuilt and is used for worship again now. However, it was only rebuilt to about a quarter of it's original size because the Jewish population in Berlin was so decimated that it would have been unnecessarily large.
