Day 2, evening. He said: back at the hotel for a quick change, we stopped to take a look at our penguin photos. Some good stuff in there. I even got some 60fps footage of penguins frolicking in the water. They're pretty damned adorable. I don't know how I can use the footage, but I'll figure something out.
Then we headed out to Sotito's, by reputation, the best king crab place in town. It did not disappoint. We started with octopus in a roasted garlic oil - very tasty, though the texture was a bit odd (firm meat, combined with a very squishy fat layer). Both Rachel and I had the same thing for the main course - crab à la créme. Basically, a cut up king crab in a bowl of butter and cream. Ridiculously good. I feel a bit guilty for not eating at least some vegetables, but we had wine for dinner. That's like fruit juice, right?
We stopped by Olijoe Pub on the way back for a pint. Only a single beer on tap, Austral, but it was a very nice red amber ale. We stayed for a bit, listened to an epic 80's set (with video!), and wandered back to our hotel.
Sleep now, more stories tomorrow.
