We arrived here on the overnight bus which almost didn't make it - the gearbox definitely needs replacing! (I was thinking - of all the places we've been so far, it would have to be Oz, a civilised country, where we break down)!!!Anyway, we DID make it and Melbourne just happened to be experiencing a heat wave. I believe it was 41 degrees that day (although days later it dropped to about half that and felt like winter)!Highlights here included the the tour of the MCG cricket ground (last time I was here they were still in the middle of rebuilding it and the old Club House was still there. It's now all been replaced but thankfully they still have a window above the men's urinals so that the members won't miss any of the match whilst releving themselves); the Australian Open (only had ground tickets but still got to match a few seeded players on Court 3); our tour of Penguin Island (where we got to see the cute little penguins returning home at night and waddling up the beach - very touristy but still good fun! We even got to see Dr Carl Kennedy (from Neighbours) in a cafe while we were waiting for our tour bus to leave...how cool is that)?!?
