Still in Queenstown, we left our rafting adventure and headed back to the campsite, had a few noodles(yes were on noodles now) and popped into town for a few little drinkies and obviously it turned into a few big drinkies. Knotty had said before we were due to go out that he wanted to get a bit drunk and thats exactly what he done,(he's nearly as bad as tommy coops when he's drunk but not quite as bad,you still top pain in the arse award when drunk Thomas!). I made the mistake of pointing out that one of the waiter type person looked like Borrat and Knotty decided he'd tell him! We met a few Germans that night, one was really drunk and had a rather long political talk with the Knottster after of course knotty asking him if he knew Stefan Katt. Very very funny to watch and listen about Gordon Brown and Tony Blair and of course our friend Mr Bush. The next morning we were up fairly late and headed for Franz Josef where they have the glacier(something to do with the two plates under the water had pushed together forming these glaciers)please correct me if im wrong. Anyway we arrived there and was planning to book in for a half day trip the next day but were informed that the weather might be bad, so left it till the next morning to book and boy are we glad we did. It absolutly pee'd down all day and there really is sod all to do in franz josef apart from the glacier so we did sod all but book the trip for the next day, rain or shine we were doing it. Oh yes what a choice, the sun was simply glowing, and off we went. We were put into groups of fast, moderate and slow walking pace(by choice) and Knotty being a speedy gonzalis said lets go in the fast one which turned out to be the best choice. We had a great guide called Dale who spends most of his days training and testing other guides, but this day he had choose to go out cos of the sun shinning its arse to us all. We walked and walked and done a bit more walking and we were there at the glacier, Massive bloody thing it was, huge!! There so much i could tell you but i'll keep it short. It was fricking amazing well worth waiting for the sights were amazing our guide was the nuts and we burnt about 1000calories i reckon. We left Franz Josef that evening after a cofee and headed upto Greymouth where we were going to stop for the night, on route we popped into a chip shop for some fish n chips(only $6NZD about 2.50 in pounds)which is quite literaly cheap as chips. In there was a big wall calender with some speedway race dates on, speedway is all types of cars solo's and sidecars over here. The bloke serviving told us there was one here tomorrow just up the road and that we should go, so we found the track and had a look, pretty big track with a concrete wall, there was some midget car event on tomorrow with some support classes so we parked up for the night ready to see some racing. The next day the sun was still shining and bloody hot, i think 28degrees or something, so we popped into town and back for the racing at 4. $10NZD they chared for an adult less than a fiver and with a program, not bad for 3 hours entertainment, and it was good some bit funny like the wierdo sat next to us from one of the race teams getting very over excited but having to ask us what position number 9 was in. Bit like ya local grasstrack really, infact it was alot like going to Iwade....After the meeting we cooked some more noodles and had another one of our wicked campsite/speedway track showers, so this is the 2nd time of using it but we'd learnt to fill it up and leave it in the sun for a few hours to heat the water, very nice it was indeed. After that we drove for an hour or two up as far as somewhere i cant remember and camped courtesy of Freshchoice(a local supermarket) in their car park. Then up this morning and drove to Picton where we are now and where we will be till our ferry back to the North Island tomorrow(Monday). So the south island...... lots of trees lots of hill and mountains, very green and peacefull, but also for us adventurous. Loved it down here nice people and lots stuff to do. And the Journey continues glad were up to date with eachother
Hope everyone is well Love ya
