After a short flight we left the none stop activity and noise of hong kong for Hanoi, capital of Vietnam - looking forward to a more relaxed and quieter time - how wrong we were! As an ingenious way of saving money we have decided to get a few overnight buses from the north of Vietnam to the south - a good idea in principle (maybe!) the only downside is that the beds in the buses are designed to fit the tiny Vietnamese people and not us Brits! Even Gwenno towers over the locals!!!

Afternoon tea in the very posh Peninsula Hotel (set of a Bond Film), didn't know you could feel so full from cucumber sandwiches! This was a great way to end our trip here, seen hong kong from all perspectives and it has been fascinating. Hanoi tomorrow.

We have checked in at Manchester Airport and Ben has been having a quick pint to calm his nerves. We need to do some last minute shopping before the flight to heathrow, and we should arrive in hong kong at 2pm tomorrow local time. Forecast is 30 degrees and sunny so Ben should be a bit browner by the next photo! Xx
