I woke up today and was actually hungry, which came as a surprise after last night. I thought I wouldn't need to eat for days. But the Texan Steak Ranch also offered a morning buffet with fried and continental breakfast, it would've been rude not to. So we crossed the car park again for their breakfast buffet and I had a large helping of eggs, sausage, bacon and toast. With some pancakes on the side, and then marie had some egg on toast and then what I can only describe as a fruit platter. We both ate enough to get our money's worth, plus they cooked the eggs fresh, so they were definitely worth it. After that, we headed out, we weren't staying 2 nights, but we were staying in Amarillo. So we went across town to a hotel we had a coupon for and stayed there. We had some time to kill before checking in, so we headed to Walmart. Today was the day we were planning on dying Marie's hair. That meant we had to pick a particular dye and specific shade of purple and that took time. So we were in Walmart for a while and decided on a colour. (The one I had said about all along). Then we needed to buy a towel so as not to spoil the hotel ones, especially as they're white. So we bought a towel to use for $3. Only $3!! For a towel!! After that we went back to check in and get underway. Marie prepped one of the dyes and I basically had to apply it. Using a squirt bottle and gloves. But I'd seen my mum do it loads of times, despite Marie's constant reminders to "get the roots" and "don't forget to do underneath". Anyway, after washing twice and conditioning, we dried it and the results were as usual, spot on. Well done to me!! After that, Marie had a little nap and then we went to eat at Cici's, which was only a few doors down. Then went back to the hotel via Walmart for another towel as the first one had been spoiled by dye. Then shortly after returning to the hotel, we had a relaxing evening in front of the TV before bed and before another big day of driving.
