The drive from barron desert through occasional seemingly trailer park villages to mountains with gradually increasing amounts of pine trees was fascinating.... Ben was having fun on the winding roads while I had a few gasping moments! Passing something akin to a Western Movie... Literally 1,000's of cowboys and horses in what looked like a showdown was an intriguing sight. A few fields and hanging hides later we stumbled upon Whiskey Creek in Bishop for a spot of Blue Cheese salad and ginormous chicken ciabattas!

On arriving in the ski resort of Mammoth Lakes, the temperature had dropped by about 25 degrees! Ben took advantage of being able to go for a mountain view run while I had a bit of pampering time before getting jumpered up for a walk to Shlocums American Fayre for a ridiculously large meal..... I literally struggled to wobble to our Inn.......

We are really excited to get on the road for some adventure in Yosemite National Park over the next few days!
