Today we started the day with another swim as our trip isn't until 1:30. We grabbed some early lunch and waited until it was time for our trip.
The trip consists of going to a stream, seeing the fishing village and then the White and Red Sand dunes. So we started at a place called Fairy stream, this was a shallow stream that weaves its was between some white and red dunes. The water is a muddy red colour due to run off from the dunes. We walked a little way down and headed back, it was quite pretty but not the best start - however we did see a place where you can ride an ostrich! After all that exciting river walking we jumped back in the jeep and headed to a view point that looked out over the fishing village - there was hundreds of colourful boats moored up and was quite an impressive view. We watched some local fishermen paddle what looked like a giant cereal bowl out into the sea and jumped back into our jeep for our next stop, the white sand dunes! The ride there takes you along a long, bumpy, dusty track when you arrive at a small carpark and the dunes open up in front of you. These dunes looked like something from a desert with massive dunes stretching miles, We were offered a quad bike to go around the dunes to see them and almost didn't get it - however we came to our seances and hired one for 20mins. This is definitely the best way to see the dunes as you bounce along, up steep hills, narrow ridges and into deep bowls. However while trying to get out of one of the really deep bowls our faithful stead decided it didn't want to work anymore, luckily for us a local kid came haring down the hill and got it started for us, obviously for a cheeky
Tip! We used our 20 minutes to the full and loved every minute! Hana had a go a driving and enjoyed every second, even though she was screaming a lot! Once we had finished we headed to our final stop which is the red dunes, these weren't nearly as impressive but still a beautiful view none the less! Again we saw a place to ride ostriches, never seen this before and now twice in one day! We headed back to our hotel and had a refreshing swim to cool down! Tonight we went and collected my new glasses and headed to a restaurant at the bottom of our road, this place was amazing as the floor is completely covered in sand and with the palm trees we felt like we were on the beach! We had some amazing food and a few beers and headed back to FaceTime Ming as it was her birthday! Feeling tiered after our day of excitement we went to sleep. Tomorrow we are spending the day by the pool and topping up our tan!
