Today was the first of 2 full days travelling! We chose the 2 days trip (1 day by road 1 day by boat) rather than the 3 day (1 day road 2 days boat). We woke and and grabbed a quick breakfast before we were picked up. We assumed we would get a mini bus to the bus terminal and get on a coach - we were wrong. 6 hours on a mini bus through windy mounting roads, not the most comfortable bus we've had but definitely the best view ( no picture would do it justice)....

Today we decided not to do anything! We have a two day trip tomorrow ad were feeling quiet tiered. So we had a lay in and around 11 we made a move into town to get some food. Once we had eaten we went back to the room and slept ad watched films. In the evening we decided to have a few beers and grab some food at the restraunt down the road. Day done!

So today we woke up early, get our stuff together for our day trek. As usual we were down stairs early so we sat and had a drink while we waited to be picked up - our pick up time was 8-8:30. When 9 o'clock came around we asked the reception what happened with the tour and we were informed we had wen forgotten! Today we woke up and had a chill in the morning. Late morning we got a taxi to Wat Phrathat in Doi Suthep, which is an amazing winding journey up into the mountains. Once there we paid for our ticket and went for a wander around the temple complex, again as in Bangkok the detail and colour is amazing and for a small complex we spent a good hour looking around, before walking the 306 steps to the bottom.
