Hello...

We arrived from Heathrow safely, absolutely no problems. No stress at all.

I would love that to be the case but this is me we are talking here and if Sarah expected an easy trip she now knows that will not be the case.

Before we had even left Heathrow I had managed to lose my wallet, in which were all my bank cards, money, credit cards and, best of all, my key to my big padlock on my bag. Great. Sarah freaked out a little, and who can blame her really... we hadnt even started the trip yet and about 2 hours into the six months travels I had managed to ruin everything... ah well...

Luckily, the wallet was found but despite being handed in about 3 hours before we left Heathrow they didnt get in touch by the tannoy and noone from Virgin could bring it through customs. So off we went to Jo'burg, me with no wallet, no money and no way of getting into my bag which had everything in it...including my contacts. Blind and penniless... what a start.

I managed to get into the bag at Jo'burg as, having failed to pick the lock with a hairclip, walked onto a construction site and had them cut it off with an angle grinder. Alls well that ends well...

We spent the whole day in Jo'burg sleeping and watching cricket....we didnt dare walk outside, the hostel was in a bit of nasty area.

Now in Cape Town- weather is great and today we went to the V&A waterfront and had a nice walk. We saw a sealion and some dancing folk. Someone also tried to scam us... ALREADY!!! We didnt fall for it though.....dont worry Mum(s)

Tomorrow we are off to climb Table Mountain... so expect some pics soon.
