Another city, another Sky Tower, but this time its the biggest city in NZ- Auckland.
The rest of New Zealand seems to share the opinion of Auckland that many in England have of London. Three days is hardly enough to get to know a city but it is pretty nondescript to be honest, we haven't taken any photos other than one of the harbour bridge (which is pretty underwhelming in itself!)
I think we left you in Rotorua- I don't really know how anyone could live there with the occasional waft of eggy sulpher assaulting your nose. As a place it was nice, though due to a reggae festival being held there we only spent one night. We wandered through a park which had natural sulphur pools, popped into a farmer's market and had a very traditional NZ breakfast (samosas!?) and then went with Pippa and Lorna to Kerosene Creek which was a natural spa pool. It was lovely- hotter than a bath, in the middle of nowhere and very relaxing.
After leaving Rotorua we headed to Mount Maunganui where we stayed for three nights. Most of our time was spent on the beach as it was hot each and every day. Ice cream weather. Fortunately the sea was great to swim in and cool down.
And that brings us to where we are now, Auckland. We have been to the cinema, shopped and yesterday we went for a swim. Tonight we fly to Fiji- so it may be some time before we get anything else written on here as the island we are on (Yasawa Islands- Nacula) doesn't have medical, post, telephone or banking let alone interweb!
2 WEEKS TO GO!
