Full moon party was utter madness! About 5,000 people packed Haad Rin beach, partying hard until the early hours - some lasted until the following afternoon! Fire skipping, flame twirling and numerous other fire-based activities were on show. Plenty of buckets were drunk, and so were we.
After a days recovery we left for Koh Samui, along with our Aussie chums. In need of some excitement, we rented scooters again and set off exploring the island. Along our way we came across numerous waterfalls, a mummified monk and the 'Grandmother and Grandfather' rocks. Most impressive was Na Muang waterfall which is 80m high. After this, a good birthday night on the beach. An enjoyable few nights at the Green Mango and then more Thai boxing (including a masculine Russian woman!) followed.
We moved on from Samui alone, and experienced a rather horrendous bus trip to Krabi. The '3 hour' trip turned out to be closer to 6, Sam being travel-sick after 40 minutes!! Having set off at 6.45am we eventually arrived at our new hotel on Railay Beach at 8.30pm. A long day...
Got up early the next day regardless and went on a daytrip to Koh Phi Phi. Had a great day, visited lots of islands, including Maya Bay - the location of the film 'The Beach'. Didn't see Leonardo Di Caprio though. Lots more snorkelling and then back to Railay Beach. Both Railay and Krabi are very beautiful.
Can't believe our Thai adventure has come to an end, heading to Malaysia tomorrow. 44 hours of train journey ahead of us in the next 4 days! Having an awesome time, looking forward to the next few weeks and getting to Australia.
Love to all,
Sam and Ben x
