hi everyone, we have now made it halfway up the east coast and we are now in brisbane and it is hot hot hot. our first day here we went and made a docs appointment to get some malaria and got food then went back to the hostel and had lunch before venturing into town and having a walk around, wasnt that exciting as it is another big city and they are a bit boring. stayed in a the hostel in the evening and watched tv. have our own room which is nice for a bit of privacy but does mean it is a tip.
today we went to the doctors and got our malaria tablets all 51 of them each at $7 per tablet it cost us about 400 pounds which wasnt nice at all, so we went all quiet with each other as we thought it would be about a 100 quid. so we are not eating for the next few weeks as it was soo much. after lunch we went to the train station and booked up our next train and found out how to get to the zoo and seaworld. and that was pretty much it for the day.
went to australia zoo which was really good, got to feed an elephant and watch lots of shows where they like to cuddle their tigers which is very brave of them. also stroked koalas and kangaroos and saw lots of crocs. was quite sad thou as everywhere you looked was tributes to steve irwin. found some big tortoises that were about the size of a big dog which if they roll on to their backs they die within 20 minutes and have to get rolled over before then, and then they cry. which is weird. had a really good day and took ages to get back to the city.
went to lone pine koala sanctuary today was amazing, went and cuddled one got our picture taken with it and also with a little croc. fed the kangaroos which was cool and had to dodge the emus which roam free. got about 100 pictures of koalas and have plans for an enclosure at the end of the garden dad so can you plant some euclaliptus trees please. saw some sheep dogs at work and then when we got back to the city we were walking up the road and there was a dead snake sprawled out on the pavement which i ran past was horrible. keep thinking we're going to find one in our room or a spider, already have found a big millipede thing under our blanket ben was very brave and chucked it out the window on my flip flop.
today we are chilling out as it is really hot over 35 degrees, burning our photos onto a cd and then gonna try go for a swim near the river as it is soo hot. off to seaworld tomorrow to swim with sharks and dolphins so is going to really good.
hope you are all well take care xxxx
