Hi all
We had a good couple of days in Hue, really enjoyed the bana pancakes with chocolate for brunch!! The town itself was pretty cool, laid back and lots of nice food places to eat from. Spent a day around the citadel, pretty neat place to meander a day away however still under restoration. We were amazed as you were able to wander anywhere even into the areas they were working on - don't think this would fit in the safety code in NZ.
After Hue caught a day bus (4 hours) to Hoi An. Ended up in a very nice hotel with pool and all. This is a very historic place, the streets and houses are like they were years ago, lots of souviner shops, and tailors. Unfortunately the tailors struggled with the concept of maternity clothes so I have walked away empty handed!! Took a day trip out to My Son temples yesterday which are the oldest temples in Asia, neat to see but alot have been destoyed by the US bombs!! The tour guide mentioned this on several occassions.
Today we are just heading out to visit site in Hoi An and then off on our last overnight bus ride to Nga Trang. This is a beach town where we plan to stop and relax for 5 nights before hitting the madness of Siagon. Hopefully Ben's phone will start working again in Saigon.
Hope all is well at home and everyone is looking forward to and easter break, I'm disappointed we miss the easter eggs!!!.
Luv Nicky and Ben
