Hi everybody,
We thought we'd write a quick update on what we've been upto so far....We arrived yesterday lunchtime at our hotel in Manly beach which is gorgeous! It's right on the beach front and our room has a balcony which we ate breakfast on this morning.
After having lunch on the beach front yesterday we thought we'd have a quick nap before heading out again. We thought an hour wuld be enough seeing as we both claimed to not be at all jet lagged (!) although five hours later we woke up with no memory of our alarm going off (although one of us must have shut it up somehow...Ben, no doubt!).
This morning we woke up about half six so decided to go for our first swim in the sea, thinking we'd be the only ones up at this hour. However, we turned up to the beach only to find lots of very cool surfer people who seemed to do this every day! After getting into my bikini, I took one step onto the beach (trying to not look touristy but look cool and surfery too!) only to trip straight over a rock and land on my shin (Mum...don't panic it's the non operated one!). After recovering from the shock we swam for all of about 20 seconds before I realised I was not only too cold to stay out, but that the graze on my leg was stinging... Not forgetting the fact that the blood was definitely attracting sharks, and I didn't want either of us to get eaten on our first day!
We have spent the rest of the day walking round Manly - to Shelley Beach and a national park nearby. Ben was in his element throughout the national park, paying more attention to the lizards, spiders and birds than enjoying my company!
We have jsut come back from having a drink on Manly Wharf - which is the beach on teh other side, watching the ferry that goes to and from central Sydney come in.
Heading out to dinner soonish, probably Thai!
Lots of love
