Hola !
Hilsner herfra
Hola! (As you say here ;) ) Our week in Buenos Aires was lovely. The week went by with sightseeing of the different parts of town. 'Recoleta' is the posh part, where the more wealthy people live, but also has the famous cemetary, where the legendary Eva Perón (also known as Evita) lies buried. 'Palermo' is the hip part of town, where many boutiques, bars and restaurants are located and therefore draw many young people and turists. 'San Telmo' is the old part of the city, where tango originates from and exudes a very cosy atmosphere. 'Boca' is the poorest part, but the buildings there are cool in the way of being painted in different vibrant colors and therefore exuding a festive vibe. We lived in the center of Buenos Aires, very close to all the monuments and the main walking street with all shops located on it. Besides the sightseeing (- and some occational shopping ;) ) we were lucky enough to witness a true South American football match between the local rivals, Boca vs. San Lorenzo. It had everything from amazing and true fans to a fight on the tribune to two red cards given within the last minutes of the game. And of course we got to see talent of South American football players, which differs from European. One of the highlights of the week was to meet up with Melanie's friend, who is Argentinian. She showed us around the city, especially Palermo, where we ended up at a wine bar and had tapas. Very cosy and very argentinian ;)! The very last day in Buenos Aires we were extremely fortunate to experience a food festival, which celebrated all nationalities in the world. We took this opportunity to taste some of these lovely dishes. They included paella, gyros with tzaziki and of course crepes with nutella ;) Eventhough we enjoyed Buenos Aires very much, we felt that we needed to get out of the big city and out to the province. Mendoza was the next stop and we had been looking forward for this part of the trip. On how that went, tune in on our next blog ;)
Xx
