Finally we get to do some proper sightseeing today! We shower and dress, and are ready to rock and roll! We walk down the dreadful stairs, but because we see bunnies and squirrels running about, we can't really hate on them too much! The weather is so lovely:) a warm 27 degrees, and we are annoyed that we have been lugging our huge coats around for nothing! Although it doesn't usually get this hot, we are still question why we brought so much winter wear haha! We get the bus into town and wonder through "old town", it's brilliant! All of the old buildings/streets/stairs and alleys are ancient, and set under the looming castle, it really feels medieval. We are on the hunt for the "Scottish whiskey experience", an apparent must do while you're here! We find it right next to the castle, but as its creeping onto 1230, an we haven't eaten all day, we decide to get some lunch first! There were a million nice looking pubs back in old town, so we walk back there. Now let me just say, that we have never done so much hill waking all tour. The hills are massive, and seriously brings up a sweat! Troy is searching for the cricket in one of them, but we soon discover that the Scottish do not care about cricket! The golf open is on, and it's blaring from TVs left right an centre! We finally find one (although the golf is still blaring from the main tv) so we settle down and order. Troy is keen for some haggis, and I have a chicken pot pie. Both very good:) we then wander back to the whiskey tour, and have a really great time there! We go on an informative barrel ride, have a sort of teaching lesson, a smell and tasting, shown the largest collection in the world, then get to try the 4 regional types of single malt. Not being the biggest fan of the actual taste, I have small sips of each, and appreciate their differences. While Troy is like a kid in a candy shop, and loves it haha! We admire the store on the way out and have a look around the outside of the castle. They are setting up for the military tattoo, and we just miss it! Such a shame as I'd love to be able to see it:( oh well though, maybe another time! We head back down to the same, and only place showing the cricket, and watch it till the end. We figure we may as well order some dinner while we are here, so I get spicy nachos and Troy has a hot dog. All very traditional haha. We then get the bus back to our little dorm style room, and spend the rest of the night watching dragon ball z episodes:P.
