BABY IS BORN, BABY IS BORN! Little Prince George woke up the neighborhood at 6am:) so much fun! The streets are lined with paps and well wishes, so brilliant! We get up at 1030 to meet Nic, he's in a cafe opposite the hospital, being a general hindrance to the reporters:). We decide to head over to funky Camden town, and gosh is it hot. Sweltering. The tube is like a portable oven, sweaty people cramming together to creat hell! But, we make it and the street is awesome, loads of alternative shops, people, pets. Everything and anything. With slight trepidation, we delve into the canopied mayhem and being the sweat sesh once again. Feeling pretty hungry, me and Troy order some chili covered burritos, and Nic gets a falafel, some cold beers, and we are pretty content watching to weirdness. We continue wander and I am distinctly reminded of coffa Harbor, incense, hippies, markets, heat, pretty much sums it up. Starting to become unbearable though, and literally watching sweat running down my nose, we tell Nic he's got 5mins to buy some records before we are escaping! He settles on some Beatles, rory Gallagher, and some unknown to add to his collection, we nearly bolt out in search of a no existent breeze. We settle for an out door pub over the canal, very pretty. We order some beer and ciders, and happily chatter here for the next few hours, completely content with the world. We nibble on some polish sausage we smelled from a stand near by and went through every beer they offered. Once this was accomplished, it was time to move on! Back to the main street, we were perfectly comfortable until we realised that the pub across the road looked far more happening, and with a much more attractive crowd then the old geezers at ours. We finding up and drats! As we are walking in, it seems everybody left, onto the next! I should point out that although its around 6pm, it seems to be getting hotter:( we go into a pub and have to pretty much rush out, it's just that hot!! We think dinner is in order and we are all excited to head over to the fabled brick lane, a street completely made up of cheap, excellent Indian restaurant! What more could one want? We trek it over and get in a cab from the metro, but it over heats because of the weather. Typical. We ring out google maps, an start the walk. The area is pretty dodgy, but with Nic reminiscing on the Indian he had as a kid, we push on. We get there and I'm sad to say but it's a bit of a sad sight:( but dirty and roughy, you could smell the desperation! With an Indian restaurant now on every corner, I suppose there is no reason for people to venture here anymore. It's still busy though, so we sent of down the street, but we are harassed at every dorrway by people trying to get us to come in. It's all a bit much and Nic looks like he's about to cry, so we settle on one and go in. The atmosphere is ok, but when we get the menus and look at the prices, it's really not that cheap. Nic and Troy run across the road to buy some drinks at the supermarket while I go about picking items to order! We have two chicken dishes and a lamb vindaloo as main, the then usual selection of samosas ect to start. It's all pretty average, and me and try get our mouths blown apart from the vindaloo, so we head off relatively quickly. Not only is Nic upset about the state of brick lane, but the food has upset his stomach, so he's pretty much inconsolable by this point. We catch a can back and head to bed.Birthday tomorrow:)
