Will put this question a few days: there is a request to write the blog in Flemish. I know several non-Flemish speakers were following us in the beginning. If they are still reading, we will of course continue in English. So, pls leave a quick comment or send me a mail if you want to keep it in English. If we dont get any, we will swap to Flemish.

Day 16 - Busselton Jetty and Tree Top Walk
Before talking about today, I want to share what happened yesterday evening. After putting Olivia to bed, we still needed to eat. We had talked it with our host (Mike) and he was ok to pass by Olivia every now and then to check whether she was still sleeping. This gave us a chance for our first romantic diner with just the two of us. We were going to go dining properly: a good restaurant, excellent food, glass of local wine. Mike gave us several tips of good places in the center and off we went. About 30 minutes of driving and disappointment later, we were sitting in the living room of our B&B, eating McDonalds! Apparently Australians close all (we checked 6 places!!) kitchens/restaurants by 20h30 and we arrived at 20h45...
So, no delicious food for us but "Maccas" instead. Worth mentioning is that we had already spent more almost an hour that day looking for a lunch after 2pm which was also impossible since all kitchens were closed. We ended eating... a hamburger for lunch (oh the irony). Lesson learned: lunch from 12 to 14. Diner from 18 to 20.
This morning, I went for a run along Geographe Bay (2 down, 28 to go) and we enjoyed the delicious B&B breakfast of Mike. We packed and started the day with being somewhere just in time instead of just too late: the Busselton Jetty train. (A jetty = "een pier" in Dutch). The Busselton Jetty is 1800 metres long and goes straight into the ocean to end in an "underwater observatory". It is a typical tourist attraction but we went for it anyway since it had a little train to bring us to the end and back, which Olivia liked :-) The weather was bad so we didnt feel like walking it anyway. When I say bad, I mean we actually had some rain and heavy winds. When it rains in WA near the coast, it is always short thanks to the strong winds. So you can get 5min of rain, 5min of clouds and then sun again.
More rain followed us as we did the 3h drive south to the Tree Top Walk which is at the South coast. By the time we got there, rain had stopped and we were able to do the walk in nice weather. It was definitely the highlight (;-)) of the day: walking between giant trees (Tingle Tree) at 40m hight. Olivia had a great walk as well since the ramp is well protected to prevent falling. We continued the walk on the ground which was pleasant as well.
We then drove to Albany where we are now and where we expect to get some great views of the "dramatic South coast" that everyone told us about. More on that tomorrow!
Ciao mates
