We landed in london yesterday morning around 8:40It took us a while to get to our flat. The hardest part wasn't meneuvering through the airport and to the busses with our luggage with 59 other people not wanting to leave Daniel's side. The hardest part was staying awake on the ride to Notting Hill.Bus/car rides are the only things that make me tired?and we found traffic.I was doing word puzzles, organized p hotos on my laptop..everything and anything to stay awake. When we finally arrived I was completely breathless.Going down a little street with amazing houses sits 11 Palace Court. My home for the next four months. It's so perfect and typical.I was in the basement which worried me a bit until I actually saw it.I walked in the door to my flatt which is very roomy and especially since im sharing it with two other people. Closet space is about as small as they told us but I packed ultura light so I was just fine.We have a window?hahaWhen you walk out the door it goes into the full kitchen with everything you could imagine..the washer and drier are in there as well.To the right of the kitchen is the dining room and a tv/vcr/dvd set up.We had time to unpack and get situated before a general welcome to london meeting. We ran into Daniel who was such a sweetheart and bought us tea?our first english tea! Hehe After the meeting about safety and phone numbers yada yada we went on a short walking tour around where we live. There's so much, bowling ally, ice skating, mall, grocery stores, waffle house?EVERYTHING. I wasn't particularly tired that night, but forced myself to bed around 23.30-24.00Today we met on the stairs at 8:15 to depart to City Uni for the first time.We took the underground for the first time?a great day of many adventures.Ok, let me explain the station of the underground. If you have ever been on a subway in NYC this was the complete opposite of that.It was clean, uncrowded, didn't smell bad, and it was silent?I mean completely silent.Everyone read the paper or a book and just minded their own business. When we got to City Uni we went into the classroom and just talked about stupid stuff it was kind of dull because it was like a question and answer session for all the FYSAE'ers.During lunch me and Heidi went to buy cell phones. For 44 pounds I got a phone and a plan that should last until I leave here.I bougt some groceries..mostly botttled water, trail mix, and yogurt. Haha?im trying to be a skinny european ha haAt around 15.00 we went to Buckinham Palace which was pretty amazing.Obviously the queen wasn't home because otherwise we wouldn't be able go there and tour it.After the tour we walked back to the flat through hyde park and kensington gardens. It was so amazing. It was 10 times fresher, cleaner, and pretteier than central park.We took a double decker bus back because after a few miles of walking we came out at the opposite side..and we really liked the look of the bus.I got some chicken vegetable soup at Café Diana for a little over a quid ( quid=pound)and it was a large bowl plus warm bread to send along with it.We were treated to bowling at around 19.00I'm having some internet issues in my flat. I don't get it. Haha the wireless connection doesn't always hit there. The tech guy is coming in one of these days.So for now I'm hanging out in the lounge.
