Hey hey all!!
Sorry it's been a while since I last updated you guys. Have been on fraser island for a few days without any internet access so this might be quite a mamoth of an update as we have been upto alot since I last wrote on here.
We were in Brisbane for about 3 days and I grew to really like the city despite alot of people telling us it was rubbish. To get the best feel of the city we did it on style...we roller bladed! It was sooo much fun and absolutely hilarious! none of us actually figured out how to use the breaks so stopping was a case of hoping for the best and crashing into any obstacle available including phone boxes, water fountains and trees! We looked right loons with every kind of padding strapped to us as possible! A cyclist had to do an emergency stop for me but thankfully no more stitches were needed! On the way back I commented on how this guys Barbie smelt so good and he invited us over to try his steak!!
Han and I took a trip on one of the days to the koala sanctuary which was amazing! we got to hold a koala and feed the kangaroos! It was sooo much fun!! The koalas were soo cute! Ive never seen so many koalas in one arae at one time! The emus were hilarious and ripped her bag of food right out of her hand...Ive never seen her so scared! One of the nights we met up with a couple of girls and guy we had met in surfers and went down by the river for a BBQ. Over here they have loads of really nice BBQ's outdoors for anyone to use. So we just took some meat down there and wacked it all on and hey presto. Was great to hang out with them.
On our last day there, we went to the manmade beach. Because Brisbane doesn't have a beach, the government have made one right in the middle of the city. It was sooo ace because you could sit in the fake sea and watch movies on the big screen with the view of massive skyscrapers. Pretty amazing! met up with another girl we met in Surfers that night too which was good fun.
We also made friends with the kiwi who worked in the cafe accross the road as hge sold really good chai!
