Hello again,
This is my last blog of Koh Samui, Thailand, we fly out to Cairns, Australia on Monday 19th November.
Just thought i'd update you on the last few days!
On Thursday we woke up early for breakfast ready to go Elephant Trekking in the jungle. At 9.30am an old open top safari-like jeep come to pick us up from our hotel. By the sound of it and the amount of exhaust it was omitting, I started to wonder if it'll make a yard! Anyway, hopped in the front as the back was full with other crazy tourists. When we arrived there, it has a true tropical shower, I mean it absolutely wacked it down, it didn't stop the Thai people shoving us on the elephants mind!
We hopped on the back of the elephant, we had a surprisingly young one, about 2.5 metres tall! Feeling quite upsteady, we both hoisted ourselves up and on we went through the jungle. It's amazing how steady footed they are, considering after the rain the mud was just washing away! It ws so much fun, the porter let me have a go at the front and have pics taken.. (I promise i'll upload them when I get to some higher speed internet!). After trekking with the elephant, we saw a baby elephant show, a monkey show and a crocodile show.
We then hopped back in the truck, Mark, Me and a guy from Vancouver jumped on the roof seats...bad idea...our driver was a lunitic and drove like a maniac so we were being swung around all over the place and getting hit by tree branches! God knows what the prison sentence would be in Britain! We 'safaried' around the jungle tracks stopping to look at views and then we hiked our way to a beautiful waterfall where we could swim in the pool at the bottom. It was lush and refreshing. All the lads were jumping off a rock...you know me, had to have a go! All the other girlies were just chilling on the rocks, there was me jumping in off a heighted rock and nearly lost my bikini!
After that we got back in the truck and 'safaried' a bit more when to a magic garden and then stopped off at a cliff side restaurant for a traditional Thai lunch..yum!
After that long day, we headed back stopping off at a temple where a famous monk has been mummified and preserved in a casket, quite weird but interesting.
Last night (Friday) we didn't do much during the day, the weather wasn't great so we went to the gym and stayed by the pool. At night time we went out for a meal at a restaurant in Chaweng called 'The Wave'. If you ever come to Koh Samui make sure you eat here!! It was amazing! Mixture of European food and Thai food, massive portions and totalled to 560 Baht between us (around 3.00 quid!) quality.
Anyway people, nothing else to report apart from mozzies think i'm tasty. This is my last blog from Thailand.
Next stop....
Cairns, Australia!! Watch this space....
