More Nepal adventures planned!
I knew when I left Nepal in November that it wouldn't be long before the pull of the mountains lured me back. I had thought it would be before 2012 was up, and now know for certain that it will be May, just over 6 months since I left. I became interested in the Great Himalaya Trail when I was there also, a 1700km trail that goes right the way across the Nepal Himalaya. The whole route takes around 6 months and sadly at this point in my career I am unlikely to get another 6 months off to attempt it, or to be able to afford it in one pop! So instead I am going to start with sections of it, starting with the Manaslu and Annapurna stretch. This is a 3 week trek with just two high passes, unlike the 15 of the Bhutan snowman. It does however start at just under a 1000m and the highest point is around 5300m.
I am now back in training again for another mountain advenure, not at the gym this time. Instead I am using Forces Fit, an outdoor high intensity cardiovascular and strength work out. It's good fun, and I hope it is useful for my walking. It's only 3 months until I go to Nepal so I have a lot to pack in before then!
