We are sitting in Piazza Navone by the Four Rivers Fountain (which is my favorite in history and under construction! AH!) last night after dinner me, cristen, liz (canada), amy and kay (univ. kentucky), and jeffrey (i dont remember) all walked to the trevi fountain. it is SO beautiful at night. we randomly ran into some friends from school and took an AGGIE picture in front of the fountain. this morning has been so crazy. we got up at about 7am and packed up to leave. then we walked down to breakfast with kay amy and jeffrey and met up with liz and leah (canada). The four of us got on bus 40 from termini and rode it to our hotel by the torre di argentina. we dropped off our luggage at the hotel then hopped on a tram to trastevere (across the tiber) to go to a flea market in porta portese...which is HUGE and crazy. there were tons of men there....barely any women and a lot of random stuff for sale....it went on for blocks and blocks. when we were done there we got on a bus back across the Tiber and said goodbye to Leah and Liz. we walked a ways and got a sandwich in a park...and watched a really drunk man sleed on a bench. now we are in piazza navona until we can get into our rooms at Hotel Tiziano...which is a 4 star hotel...and entirely too nice for us!
10:58pm
we just got in from our first night with our program. we are in this beautiful hotel room with a view of the Pantheon (see above picture for our view). my roomate, Megan Sabatasso, is from orange county and goes to colorado state. the other girl staying with us is ashley from boston...shes another one of me and megs roomates. at 6:30 we all walked to the other hotel for our rome orientation. afterwards we had this AMAZING dinner on their patio with ridiculous amounts of appetizers and tiramisu that just kept coming. people started to get restless and we headed over the river and back again and just ended up with a smaller group who just wanted to have a relazed night. tomorrow we have tours, etc. with EVERYONE, should be a fun but long day.
