april 27th continued...
so we met chris and decided to go round and round and round on the monorail around sydney after we had been for a walk around darling harbour around to the bridge and the opera house. so we then went back to the hostel and had dinner and then after chris had gone back to his hostel we went to bed.
april 28th
got up and after breakfast we made our way over to the bridge as we were booked on to do a bridge climb. they made us do a breath test to make sure we werent to drunk - i guess people might throw themselves off it or something. but yeah so we then got into these very unflattering outfits and then did a simulation bridge walk with our guide kirsty who was very nice. we then made our way up the bridge and had lots of pics taken of us on the way up etc. afte getting down and getting our pics we made our way to the pub for lunch. was yummy then headed back into town and decided to watch a film - went to see forgetting sarah marshall which was quite funny. closed back accounmts and sent parcels home and all the boring stuff as well. we then had tea etc and then got ready to go out. we ended up in a bar called scruffy murphys and had a very entertaing night which ended in lots of cheap champange!
29th april
we got up and after a very late breaky we made our way over to bondi beach which we froze at! by the time we were sufficiently cold we went to have fish and chips my the sea side. that turned into a full on war with the chips to try and attract the seaguls towards us. not nice. a lot of screaming happened as well as a lot of strange looks from other bondi beach visitors! anyhoo we frooze somemore and then went back to the hostel to warm up and get showered. we then went for a walk around the city and accross the bridge to luna park and ended up getting the ferry back. we then had a drink and grabbed some tea and went home to bed.
april 30th
got up and went on a trip to the blue mountains. we went to a wildlife reserve and patted kangaroos, koalas and emus as well as seeing lots of other different animals. after that we headed to a park where we were given a boomerang demo which im sure was meant to try and hurt us as lots of people had a go and the boomerang headed straight towards us. we then had lunch and headed over to the 3 sisters which is a big rock formation which is cool - there is a massive canyon with a mountain in the middle the same size as ayres rock so that gives u some idea as to how big this canyon was. then we went up the valley further and got a cable car across the valley, a cable car down a very steep drop, a walk around the rain forest at the bottoma nd then a train ride backwards up the valley - oh my god it was like being on a rollercoaster - was so weird. we then went to a little down called leura where we found a little shop that was dedicated onl;y to christmas!!! mum i got u an auzzie xmas decoration like u asked for! we then went to wentworth falls which is apparently a 20 minute round trip but we did it 9 (go us!) we ran the whole way cos we didnt have a lot of time left. then we made our way down the blue mountains and through the olymic village and back on a ferry to darling harbour. we bought chris a bday present as we weren't going to see him for it and then met him for tea. after tea (and lots of giggling from laura) we went upstairs to pack and do all our washing. by about midnight we were done and then we headed off to bed - saw chris off at like 4 in the morning and then slept til it was time to get up again!
1st may.
got up and changed and had breakfast - finished packing then got a crazy bus to the airport. the aisan couple were late for there fllight so asked the driver to go fast so we where speeding around sydney in a mini cab! got checked in and then waited for our flight. got on the plane and watched a film - august rush - such a lovely film and then had lunch. got off and took AGES to get through customs (mainly due to the fact that some muppet (ahem... me) left her bag on the plane so had to run back for it!) then we headed for the hostel which took ages to get too cos people wanted to get water but realised after we got to the bottle shop that they didnt have any cash then they had to go back for cash then back to the bottle shop and about 3 crates later we were ready to go! got checked in and sorted out then went to find mark stewart (a mate from primary school) and then went to the bar for a drink.
May 2nd.
got up crazily early and sat by the pool enjoying the sun. then headed for breakfast with laura and mark and then went into town. went to the suppermarket and had a look at the markets and went to the doctors for a mark to get a dive medical so he could scuba dive if he wanted to, had some lunch (a fijian dish that was a cross betweween soup and potatoe salad) and messed around on the net for a bit before heading abck to the hotel to jump in the pool. we caught a bus home from town that was really good - tookus around nadi suburbs and along the beach in the bus - very strange. got showered and changes and then headed down for tea with a girl in our room called olivia. then went to the cinema to watch FRACTURE in the hotel! packed and went to bed.
may 3rd
had breakfast before we caught a bus to the marina at 7.30 checked in and then headed over to the boat after getting extra cash to go scuba diving. went to an island called TEWEVA where we stayed at a resort called coral view. was really nice and after checking in me and mark went snorkelling on the reef. we thyen went for a free scuba diving trail which we all had a go at and then had afternoon tea. sat and chatted to some new people and then chilled out before dinner. we then went to have tea and got cocktails and joined in with a bula dance. BULA means hello and cheers over here and Vinaka is thanks. after dinner we stayed up chatting and then headed for bed. the fijian food is so yummy and they give u so much and encourage u to come up for seconds - a diet is definitly in order i think!
4th april
we decided the night before to head to a fijian church on one of the other islands. i had to buy a sarong so that it would cover my knees and then we went to the service. was very emotional (all the people were crying and howling and laughing and all sorts) but the singing was great and very 'happy clappy' kind of stuff which was good. back to the resort in time for lunch then after we allowed lunch to settle, me and mark went scuba diving.
bet ur bored now, well i am of writing so will update more of this day as well as update the rest of fiji another day xxxx
