Saturday 31st March
Day 14
Easter Saturday.
We went exploring the southern part of the Yorke Peninsula. Port Vincent, you can do the Yorke walk which encompasses some 500kms of trails. We went to Stanbury, Edithburgh where they have the Wattle Point Wind farm. A wind farm consisting of 55 wind turbines with a hub height of 68 m and a rotor diameter of 82 m.
Then we went to Marion Bay, a National Park at the bottom of Yorke. Some beautiful sites to see, west cape lighthouse, Ethel Beach Wreck and Cape Spencer Lighthouse.
We ended up at Gleeson's Landing which is a beach where people camp out. This is a place we had never experienced before. It was a 4km drive from the main road on a dirt track. There were people camped everywhere, being the Easter long weekend it was busy. I asked a lady "How does it work around here? Where do we camp?" She said "Anywhere". We then went to a spot near the water. You don't have to go to WA to see the sunset over the ocean. We slept well that night hearing the waves crash on the rock.
