Another cold and uneventful post! Did a Russian sauna when I got back to the lakehouse last night. It was great to be so warm! Then there wax the bit where we went and rolled in the snow outside which was not so pleasant... The defining part of a Russian sauna is the bit at the end where you get hit wit pine needles - sounds painful but really is not - it smells fantastic!
Has actually been nice to just laze around a bit and be in the one place for a while - I really am getting to be an old man!
Took until about 1.30pm today to summons the energy to leave the lakehouse and then I only ventured the 10 mins to the posh hotel where I have just had some delicious borsch (type of soup) and bread for lunch. Feeling nice and warm on the inside but not looking forward to the walk back to the lakehouse.
It is slightly warmer today at minus 30 an when the wind isn't blowing you can actually notice the difference between today and yesterday. Tomorrow we head back to Irkutsk to catch the 4 night train to Moscow...
Tonight we're heading out to dinner as it is two people's birthday today. And in another 'that can't happen' - one of the other girls in the group is born on the same day as me (different year), and her surname is Scott!
Take care and I'll try and stay warm
