Retired & Traveling
We spent all day doing pretty much nothing....played bingo again and lost. Went up to the 15th deck and hung out reading and watching the fog...it was EXTREMELY foggy, so much so that the ship had to blow the horn every few minutes. Even during the night! Fortunately, we couldn't hear it very well in our room but it was pretty loud everywhere else.
At least this time the water was smooth--the trip up was very rocky. Lots of people were seasick but Ashley & I were fine. She suffered a little bit from the swaying motion once she was on solid ground but we never had to break out the seasick meds, so I consider that a success. :))
We ate lunch in the Crown Grill where they were serving a British type meal--fish & chips, etc. I had shrimps & fries...it was yummy. That afternoon we decided to try the afternoon tea service in the Da Vinci dining room since we hadn't tried it before--they served all kinds of stuff! Sandwiches, pastries, cookies...and tea, of course. We sat with several others and one couple was from England--I couldn't understand the wife at all, her accent was so thick.
It was formal night again, so we dressed up and went to watch a show in the Princess Theater. It was a British Invasion production, very well done....we have had a very British day! We sat with the couple we met at dinner the other night that is from Granbury, Ralph & Cathy. They had already eaten dinner so they said they would save us a seat at this comedian/musician performance we wanted to go to in the Vista Lounge. We headed off to dinner and since it was so late, we were able to have a table all to ourselves. We'd stopped by the room and picked up a bottle of wine to have with dinner and my cheeks are a definite giveaway to my indulgence!! (see photo) It was lobster night & it was pretty tasty.
Ralph & Cathy had scored some really great seats and the place was packed when we got there, so that worked out very nicely for us. The entertainer was good and both of us were tired after the show so we called it a night.
