B 'n' B's Travels
Sun. May 10, 2015
STATS
Departure: 9:50 AM, Palo Alto
Arrival: 7:25 PM, Winnemucca KOA, Winnemucca, CA
Miles: 419 miles
Travel Time: 9.5 hrs.
We got up at 7:30 am, expecting to leave around 9:00. We finally got out 50 minutes later. The traffic wasn’t bad, but we saw a lot of it. We had found what we thought would be a neat campground, about half-way between Lovelock and Winnemucca. When we got there, it turned out to be about two miles down a dirt road in the middle of the desert, and this 50-foot freight train that I drive isn't very good at off-roading. So we turned around (not an easy feat) and continued eastward. Fifty miles later, we had driven over 400 miles, and we pulled into the Winnemucca KOA at about 7:30 pm.

Belinda So, um, I guess if I were a better friend (!) I'd have already known you were OTR, for how long, and why. Where are you headed, why, and when will we see you next?
Brenda Cash So glad to hear from you and know you are on the road. Was about to call Barbara for a health status check. Hey! Have fun! Hugs, Brenda
Patrick Does this mean that "Off The Grid" will not be observed on your vacation? ;-)
Leigh Ann Don't overindulge on #4. Too many marshmellows will really curb your enthusiasm. Speaking of enthusiasm, I'm so jazzed you're writing another travel blog! Have a great trip, looking forward to your posts and pics.
Marge Wow! What a long day. Glad to hear that you have started your adventure. Love the pillows, curtains, toes, and humor.
Trish So glad you're off and driving! I think the real reason for the delay was the intricate design on Bill's toes! :-) Have fun in Winnemucca and my breath is already baited for the next installment!
Rich I hope Barbara had a good Mother's Day on the road. Winnemucca. This is the turn left for Boise place.. Not exactly on the road to the East Coast but someday this may become your destination. This town holds memories for Laurel and me, but Barbara was not born yet. Our '38 Olds broke down in this one horse town, and Dad said he did not have the money to fix the car and continue on our trip to the East Coast, so we would have to go home. Then he found a $20 bill in the street, and went iinto a casino to play craps. He came out with enough money to fix the car and continue the trip. If I only had Dad's luck, and I hope you have some. Your timing is impecable. Tornoados in most of the mid-west. Is this deja vu?
Alice (Fresquez) Bollard You brought back memories of my younger days with little kids. Thanks, have a great trip.
Laura I remember when you bought the cherry fabric!!
Earle Nice to see you two back on the road again (gee, sounds like a song I've heard). Anyway, where abouts are y'all headed or better yet, what is your final destination before headed back to the West Coast life?? Love reading your blog & seeing pictures of your adventures (at least the ones you can make public). Harmony along your travels. If you come near Columbus, let me know. I'd love to see ya! ??
