Travelled to New York from Boston by Greyhound. There weren't many seats available on the bus so sat down next to a girl called Krystal. Got chatting to her for about the whole 4 hours of the journey and got on really well. Helped the journey go much quicker than sitting next to Chris or Richard again.
Got to our hostel, at least that's what they called it. It was just really a room. No reception, no kitchen basically no security at all. Anyone could have walked in off the street and taken our things. Might have been good though as my bag was too heavy. We still stayed there for the full 8 nights.
Done the usual touristy things, The Empire State Building for about 5 minutes as it was so cold and windy. Visited Madison Square Garden but didn't see any events there. Tried to see The Killers but the tickets were sold out. Went to see The New York Jets playing which was good fun. Mainly because there was a really drunken guy in front of us shouting rubbish and then fell over onto another guy who wasn't amused. I also got drunk a few nights. No surprises there then.
Met Krystal in Starbucks where she worked so got her number and arranged to go out for a bite to eat and a drink together. Met her a couple of days later with 2 of her friends, Meridith and Katie. They were also nice people. Had a bite to eat in an irish bar and then went for a few drinks. Her friends left and i took Krystal to Bleeker Street to see some live bands. It became aparent that Krsytal was no big drinker as she got drunk fairly quickly. Very drunk. I had to get her in a taxi, which she was sick in, get her back to her flat making sure she was alright and then spend the night with her. Other than that she was a really nice girl and hopefully be staying in contact with.
Second time i've been to New York. It is a really cool place but i was ready to move on after the 8 days there.
