Well I know if you look at the picture it is of the Taj Mahal and we are definitely not in India but this site has no picture to depict Vietnam and didn't want to give the wrong impression, with this I know I can't.
So we went to Bangkok and it was interesting, glad we didn't stay much longer, its a bit grotty. We eventually managed to catch a bus over to the grand palace and to see the emerald buddha which sounded very grand in the guide book but when we got there it was very small and quite disappointing! oh and then we went to see another recling buddha this time it was the longest/largest one which got some pics on. We then decided to jump on a tuk tuk, which was quite exilerating. We then went to Asia's largest market, and boy it was massive it needed a map it was that big and we did get lost, but by then we were tired and wanted to get back as we had to be up early to fly to Hanoi.
We are in Hanoi now, its very different to what we expected, its so much better in fact, i'm blown away by the place and I already want to come back and see more of the south as I've heard its just as good. We have booked a trip to Halong bay tomorrow for 3 days/2 nights and 1 night is on a boat the other is an island, planning to do the sightseeing in Hanoi when we get back. Crossing the road is more of a challenge than the language barrier and basically the mopeds don't stop for no one, slow and steady wins the race as they say. They kinda move for you, won't be hiring one here they drive on the opposite side of the road for starters.
Just a quick update really with not much to say, met some really nice people in the first day and night that we have been here and seems we are all booked on the same trip tomorrow, although we didn't realise it. Should be good fun and will probably have much to write about!!
