Hi everyone, apologies for not updating the site but we've been having problems trying to get interweb access. Right now we're in San Francisco and its great here?
But let's tell you about the the 'stuff' before we got here?
We left Vegas Saturday morning, planned out route and off we set north towards Tanopath on the I95 thru the desert. What a vast place this is, we drove for hours and hours and the only thing we seen was a car accident and some closed brothels (think they knew the boy's were traveling thru town !!! I can even begin to describe the heat, but we stocked up on water, ice and gas. We stopped off @ one shack on the side of the road and woke up 'Gus', this guy looked like an old prospector don't think he's seen bath or toothbrush for years (mind you his teeth looked like a blown fuse box). We bought some jerky off of him, and he gave us some good tips on directions and where to go. Off we headed, this time for Mammoth Lakes?
Mammoth Lakes
What another great drive here, the scenery was breathtaking. We both thought we had some beautiful mountains, but these were amazing and yeeewge! We eventually got to our hotel, and checked in. Not anything as near as the Luxor in Vegas but hey ho! We got back in the car and drove around, and found a place called The June Loop - basically it's a series of lakes and valley passes and yet again we were blown away by this again. Ok, enuff of the luvly mountain stuff, we headed back into town and found the 1st bar we came across - Slocoms Bar 'n Grill?. Many thanks to Chris the Barman, Matt the crazy hiker (he was nuts !) and Duffy & Carol, top tips guys. After filling our bellies (shut it) we gladly decided to try every local ale they had on offer, Fat Tire was the fav brew of the evening and I think it was made out of tyres ! After copious amounts of this, red wine, Jargermeister and tequila we were in enuff of a state to retire. Much to the smiles of bar staff and occupants of the foresaid hostelry ! Think they we glad we left !!!
