Off Exploring
Well, it's only one month to go until our vacation. It sounds like a ways away but when we booked the trip it was over 4 months away, so I know the next month will fly by. For the last 5 or so years my husband and I have been talking about selling everything and living abroad. Costa Rica is high on our list. We've never been there so we figure it's about time we check it out to see if we would actually want to live there.
I had a really hard time narrowing down where to go. I really want to go to Tamarindo because on paper it sounds like a place I might want to live. We don't have tons of time and decided we'd rather stay in each place for a few days rather than go to a bunch of places and only stay for 1 or 2 days. We're flying into San Jose and the one place I really wanted to go was La Fortuna/Arenal. Unfortunately Tamarindo is just too far to make the trip this time. Instead we're going to Jaco because of its proximity. I know most people don't like Jaco because it's so touristy, but it's close to where we'll be so we might as well check it out. We'll be on vacation and they have a beach so I'm sure it won't be so bad.
We'll be flying into San Jose and spending 1 night there. Then it's off to La Fortuna for 3 days, then Jaco for 4, and then back to San Jose for 2 days. My husband, Kyle, and I have done a ton of cruises since we met since it's so convenient and is a good mix of our travel styles (he likes to relax, I like to run around like crazy and try to see as much as possible). I'm excited for this vacation because we'll be spending a few days in each location instead of a few hours. I'm a little worried that I'll get bored since I can usually explore a city pretty well in a day, but wondering what I'll do when I'm bored is part of the point. If I really want to live there I'm sure I'll get bored at times, just like with anywhere else.
We're overdue for a vacation and we're really excited. Just one more month to go!
