Day 4 - hometime. Had an easy bus/train journey to the airport (40mins) then stuffed ourselves with a Burger King. Just waiting to catch the plane now. Overall summary of Amsterdam - expensive, beautiful, clean, fun. I would recommend a short visit to this city, if you have the resources available to spare. The people are all very helpful, in general, and making your own way around is relatively easy. I Am - sterdam...whatever that means :0)

Day 3 - a slightly earlier start than yesterday, in to town for a pancake - yummy. Then took in the Rijksmuseum for a look at some Rembrandts - they are renovating the whole museum and it won't be full re-opened until 2013. After this culture-stuff, stopped in at an Irish pub where the horse- racing was on - lots of shouting at the telly! Day 2 in Amsterdam - sorry to say the day got off to a slow start, had a KFC near the hotel, made it in to town again mid-afternoon ;0) Public transport is great here, regular and clean and fun - we trammed in and out everyday, no worries.Hopped off at Leidseplein, the 'going out area', and had a beer in the square before sauntering along to the Rijksmuseum ... only to find it no longer did late opening on Fridays, so we postponed and took a leisurely stroll back...
So, had some time on my hands and some airmiles in the pocket so on Monday decided to book a trip with Sharan to Amsterdam. Never been before and so far am loving it. Up early, caught the train in to London then rode the Picadilly line all the way to Heathrow, T5.
