SAFARI WAS AMAZING!
We set off at 7am and drove to ngorangora and we got to have a look at the ngorangora crater, the views would have been breath taking but it was so foggy, we cud hardly see out of the windows, we then went on the serengeti.
We stopped off to have some lunch and we were sitting on tree stumps and our guide Davis was like you need to watch out because animals will come and steal your food out of your hands, we laughed, obvs a joke.
It wasn't. Bird started circling us above then annie fell off her stump but still managed to keep hold of her food and not let it hit the ground, dedication.
We made our way to the campsite in the serengeti and we got to see:
cows (oooooooo)
zebra
hippos
secretary birds
cory bustard (but out guide kept pronouncing it was cory b****** haha)
baboons
thompsons antelope
gazelle
giraffe
leopard
wilderbeast
warthogs
elephants
and many more, i'll update you in the next entry when i can remember.
Our cook called Henry then cooked us our tea and it was fitttttt! It got dark really quick and we got th watch the sunset, the stars were so bright but gave no light at all. Davis said that at night we would get lions (shock) but he then said he was jokin normally hyena come around the camp site becasue they are attracted to the food.
In out tents we are woken up at 1am by growling LIONS! lions were circling our camp site and we could hear them for half an hour. Jess really neeeded a wee and Davis said that it was dangerous to walk to the western toilets so you have to wee outside your tent but she cudnt because of these lions haha.
We were seperated from them by a piece of material, not very lion proof.
In the tent it was so dark if you waved your ahdn in front of you you coudlnt see it, Jassmine woke up and thought her malerone (anti maleria tablets) had blinded her. I was convinced the lions wud come over to our tent if i had my fone light on. So we were just quivering in the pitch black whispering to each other incase the noise made them come over. SCARYYYYYY!
We had to wake up at 5:30am so we could get back in the truck, it was still pitch black and we all went to the toilet with these little toilets fearing for our lives if there was an animal out there that we cud not see.
We reach the toiilets and we cud hear bats, lovely. Whilst annie was having a wee in the cubicle a bat came into the toilets and scared us all so we barged into annie's cubicle (luckily she wasnt mid stream) and we were all shreiking because of this bat flying at us. The bat flew into the cubicle before we had time to shut the door. So 4 of us were stuck in this tiny cubicle along with a mad bat flying around. We legged it out but i accidentally shut Annie in with the bat haha.
As we were drivin through the serengeti we were watchin the sun rise and it was amazing. the veiws are fantastic, you can just see land as far as the eye can see, even if you drive for an hour, you still have the same veiw of just distance on all sides of you.
In the morning we went in serach of lions (preferably the ones from the camp site that we heard meters away from us)
