Nik and Nat's Adventures
HELLO.
Sorry it has been a while, I am always having to apologise because I am just not very good at staying in touch. Anyway the good news is I have finally got a job in Sydney, yipee! Which is great because providing that we sell our beloved Violet, then I am in with a chance of being able to continue my travels until November. The only downside is; with what I am doing, boring old telesales...making outbound calls persuading business clients to change their telephone systems to our carrier. So dull, but I am not going to moan yet, at least my back will not be breaking, as I so painfully remember from the zucchini's. It offers a reasonable basic pay and good commission if I can perform to the targets, just wish I had the slightest clue about technical details of telephones. Do you think I can get away with saying that "you can use them to talk to other people!"???? Hee heee don't think so. Anyway, the money should keep me ticking over until I get sacked, and at least the old plastic can have a break for a while. Sydney by the way is wonderful. On our first day, Nat, Jenny and I made our way straight to the harbour, which just didn't seem real. On first impressions, the bridge looked too small and the Opera House too big, but having visited the harbour area since, I have completely changed my view on that, it's amazing. Generally have just spent the time wondering the streets, shops and getting to know the area. The Botanical Gradens where also quite nice and at least that was free. All that seems like along time ago now, in fact it was only about one week, but since then we have waved Jenny back off to the UK, moved from the campsites to hostels, and had Violet serviced and put up for sale at Kings Cross Car Market. We haven't been successful with sellng her yet, but then we have started the asking price up quite high, to see how we go. I won't be working at the weekend, so I expect that is where I will be spending my time, trying to sell her. Nats and I were both thinking about asking to have her shipped home for Christmas, but bless her, it would cost about 100 times what she is worth.
Anyway, hope that gives you a little idea what I have been up too recently. I have also brought another travelling case, as I just have too much stuff to carry around, osps!!!
Love to you all, I look forward to hearing from you and to see how you are doing.
Lots of Love
Nikki
