Newsflash: Following a record-breaking two month spell undetected by any local authorities, our researchers are relieved to report that backpackingbadger is indeed alive and well although reports of blog fatigue are arousing some suspicions...
Well well well. It's been almost 2 months - and in case any of you are wondering, no, I'm not act…
Dave Yeah I got robbed there too. But don't let that stop you. I went back 3 more times! El Nido is my next stop. My favourite so far is a little island down south in the "dangerous" area of Mindinau, (or however you spell that), called Camaguin. I'd totally recommend it. It's a little bit of a trek to get to but well worth it. 7 live volcanoes and awesome snorkelling. I absolutely love your description of the karaoke. No such thing as shame. LOL. I tried singing a song jokingly one time and was almost lynched. Anyhoo, interesting post.
re: El Nido, PhilippinesManikandan R Hold your horse you are talking about the military jawans who guard our country. You made that comment standing on Indian soil if they are not there you cannot have fun in our country as a tourist. Why did not you visit Pakistan? You are afraid because they may kill you. Look at the strength behind that ridiculous outfit. We are proud to be an Indian and we respect those souls who saves our country. Do not insult!

re: Pai, ThailandHaza I cycled through Cowley smog, its overcast and the people of England are braced for mass redundancies so they can keep their new conservative overlords finances looking rosy. The Cowley road carnival was a brief interlude, the local gangsters paraded their stuff and cheap delicious food was plentiful. Everyone dreams of sunnier climes, more freedom, less pointless work and generally to be in Indonesia living the life. Badger we salute you for taking the initiative, escaping the humdrum, we live vicariously through you, so please, keep up the good work! :-)
re: Bali, IndonesiaMark T Life just isn't fair...

re: Maluku, IndonesiaEva I love Orangutans! so lucky to have seen a wild one! Their orangeyness and lankiness of limb - they're so cute Yes plenty of illegal logging in Borneo - not good, but from the sound of it there is plenty of legal but unsustainable logging there as well....
