May we tempt you with some sausage with milk, with a dash of sourcream on the side?
We're slacking on the updates... Sorry about that, we'll get better once we're in a hostel that provides us with wifi, instead of having to sit in the library.
Sydney is fantastic! Nice and clean and the weather has been great, aside from the day we got here, where the storm turned out to be a few drops here and there, and today, which is pretty windy and a few drops of rain during my morning run. Since the weather isn't great and Filippa sometimes suffers from seasickness, we decided it's a great day for a boat ride! We're headed out to Manly, I'm actually writing this on the boat, which is really expensive. We heard it was a lot cheaper so I didn't bring much money, and as a result I have a dashing $5.5 for lunch money.
So what have we been up to in Sydney so far? Honestly, we haven't been overly active yet. I've been running in the mornings and we set up bank accounts and done practical things like that. We've looked for jobs online but haven't really gone out on the market in person yet, since we have been so unsure about what our plan is. However, at this day and age a plan seems to come alive. Since there has been a cyclone in Queensland, and it's still not sure where you can go and not, we decided to completely change our plan and head south instead. We are planning on staying in southern Sydney for a little while to see if we can find a job there, hopefully we will, and then we will go to Melbourne. It's both good and bad, since there are several places up north we wanted to see, but some that we wanted to see turned out to be in the south, and others just seem awesome. I mean come on, who doesn't want to go to Kangaroo island?
We're feeling pretty good about our plan at the moment, but it's going to be interesting to see how things unfold, since our plans never seem to work out anyways. We are still having lots of fun, and Australia is amazing.
Yesterday we went to Bondi beach, something that you simply have to do if you go to Sydney. In all honesty, I've never seen the tv show about it, but I can imagine it's really cool to see it in real life if you have. It's a really pretty beach, with lots of surfers but not as crowded as I thought it would be. Of course there were tons of people but you didn't have to sit in each others laps. It was really great to just lay in the sun for a bit, and to finally get into the water. We definitely need more days at the beach, although I think we probably won't go back to Bondi. There are too many other places too visit!
